WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Day One Project released the statement below on the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris:

“The Day One Project was launched in January 2020, on a nonpartisan basis, to develop new, innovative, and actionable ideas in science and technology that the next administration, Democratic or Republican, could implement in 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the urgency for the next administration to make science and technology a priority. The Biden-Harris campaign’s policy proposals to beat COVID-19, improve access to health care,  support economic recovery, advance racial equity, and tackle the climate crisis are rooted in science, data, and smart applications of technology. The Day One Project is eager to share its findings and ideas for action in science and technology policy that can improve the lives of all Americans. The Project believes the United States can once again lead the way in science and technology by embracing the country’s global edge in innovation.”

Since its launch in January 2020, the Day One Project has engaged with hundreds of academics, policymakers, current and former government officials, and students to build a portfolio of innovative and actionable ideas across science, technology, and innovation policy to inform the priorities of the next Administration.
