Alisar Mustafa
Alisar Mustafa is a Responsible Innovation Consultant who is passionate about the development of ethical AI. She was born and raised in Syria and studied at San Francisco State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Art in Political Science and minored in Middle East and Islamic Studies.
Alisar received her Master of Science in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University, where she joined the Public Interest Technology Lab to work on combating bias in government data and algorithms. She also worked at Meta’s Responsible Innovation team, where she identified and mitigated potential harms to society caused by emerging technologies. She is the co-founder of Analytics for Advocacy, an organization that equips advocacy groups with policy, data, and tech resources to make legislative change.
In her free time, Alisar enjoys making comic books and drinking too much coffee. She is dedicated to using data, policy, and technology to bridge the gap between advocacy and policy change.
